Hey! I’m Kati.

And I’m a UX Specialist and Strategist

We live in a time where AI is doing incredible things, making the human touch of user-centred design more essential than ever.

As a UX/UI Designer and Strategist, I help teams and companies turn complexity, data, and technology into products people actually want to use.

My approach

Human-centred and data-driven

My approach blends psychology, communication, and design with a strong focus on human-centred, data-informed decision-making for complex workflows. I support teams by helping them navigate complexity, align around shared goals, and continuously improve existing structures. I work closely with product, design, and engineering partners to turn research, constraints, and organisational goals into clear direction and actionable next steps.

For users and products, this translates into experiences that are structured, intuitive, and purposeful. Through hands-on research and design, I turn assumptions into insights and evidence, shaping clear flows, journeys, and interfaces grounded in real user behaviour.

No matter how technology evolves, whether solutions rely on established UX patterns or emerging AI capabilities, I’ve found that grounding design decisions in human behaviour remains the most reliable way to create meaningful, usable products. This way of thinking shapes how I work in across strategy, research, design, and content.

  • I specialise in translating complex research, data, and organisational goals into clear, actionable UX strategies and product plans. By synthesising user research, market insights, and system constraints, I help teams identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives, and build meaningful long-term roadmaps.

My work spans refining existing strategies as well as exploring new product directions—always grounded in evidence, emerging trends, and real user needs. Recent projects include strategic UX work for 50Hertz and Daimler

  • My approach to UX design draws from psychology, communication, and fundamental design principles. I design user experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and resilient—able to evolve with changing technologies and contexts.

I conduct and synthesise qualitative and quantitative research to uncover user behaviours, motivations, and pain points. These insights are translated into concrete design decisions, interaction concepts, and product roadmaps rooted in empathy and a deep understanding of users.

  • As part of UX Design Ops, I focus on integrating UX methodologies effectively into agile development processes. This includes refining UX guidelines, aligning teams around shared standards, and evolving design and prototyping pattern libraries across complex digital ecosystems.

Content strategy and UX writing are integral to my work. I set clear content goals, craft intentional information structures, and write UX copy for complex workflows—ensuring clarity, consistency, and accessibility across products while connecting users to the information they need.

50Hertz

During my time at 50Hertz, I worked across several key initiatives within the MCCS project, a complex ecosystem of interconnected applications for operating and monitoring critical energy infrastructure.

MBition

Automotive · Mobile App

Turning the very physical act of handing over your car key into a secure, intuitive digital experience.

I worked on translating complex security, legal, and technical constraints into a flow that users could trust and understand, from first tap to key revocation.

Banxware — Cash Advance Platform

FinTech · Embedded Finance

Designing an end-to-end loan experience—from application to repayment—during a time when our main financial partner (Wirecard) unexpectedly disappeared.
Originally meant to be the money lender (not launderer, easy mistake ), the system pivoted successfully thanks to a robust white-label concept and a UX designed for adaptability across lenders, platforms, and back-office processes.

Amazon — Discover Your Perfect Pair

Retail · Voice & Conversational UX

A voice-guided styling experience powered by Alexa. I designed the conversational flows, structured product data for spoken interaction, and crafted bilingual UX writing (EN/DE)—including last-minute tweaks on site when real-world acoustics challenged our test scenarios.

Tilda — Mental Health Platform

Digital Health · Web Platform

Helping turn therapeutic programs into a calm, structured digital experience.

I focused on information architecture, content structure, and interaction design to make long-term mental health support feel approachable, supportive, and easy to navigate.

Some more past project

  • Visiting lecturer

I was asked to take over the Digital Design module of the BA Communication Design course at the Hochschule der Wirtschaft und Technik (HTW) in Berlin. I updated and reworked the module curriculum and lectured and mentored over thirty students for a few semesters.

  • Volkswagen.co.uk

    Automotive

Back then, when Flash was the bee's knees, UX was still IA. The Volkswagen UK relaunch set a new standard for automotive websites and was used as an example for new UI and UX patterns in general. You can still find examples of the site in industry books today. The site's design and UX stood up to the test of time. Flash, however, didn't.

  • ATU

    E-Commerce

A.T.U. has over 530 garages in Germany alone.  I was the lead UX for omnichannel digital transformation projects, including a site relaunch with all processes, such as user account management, service booking, and purchases. Always in close dialogue with the workers in the garage and their customers.

  • Conrad

    Mobile E-Commerce

I spent two years working with Conrad on developing their mobile landscape. We launched iOS and Android apps and a separate mobile shop, all with reworked user-centred processes, allowing for a flawless customer experience that seamlessly ties in with their physical shop.

  • Orange / Wirecard

    FinTech - App

he app allows users to pay via NFC, manage transactions, and transfer money to other users. The aim was to build an app that fits into a modern lifestyle. This was back when banking apps were nothing but a glint in the eyes of angel investors, and it was great to see these first concepts grow into something so much more significant.

  • Nokia - OVI Maps

Nokia contracted me for six months to work on their Ovi Maps product. This was back when mapping products were still relatively new and the race between map providers was on. I was lucky enough to help bring many new features to market, such as 3D navigation and routing.
